The Elstow Park and Ride is located to the south of Bedford just off the A421. It is ideally located for areas such as Ampthill, Biggleswade, Cranfield, Dunstable, Luton, Letchworth and Milton Keynes . The postcode for sat nav is MK42 9XF.

The large car park offers plenty of parking and the bus arrives every 15 minutes (between 0700 – 1900 Mondays to Saturdays) and hourly on Sunday (1000 and 1715). There is CCTV on site, a waiting room with toilets, confectionery and coffee machines plus real time information keeping you up to date with the arrival of the next bus (open between 09:00 to 17:30).

You park for free but pay for the bus journey. The journey from the car park to Bedford Bus Station, which is centrally located in the town centre, takes approximately 20 mins. For more details on the Elstow Park and Ride service please go to Bedford Borough Council’s website

There is also an off road cycle path that goes from the Park and Ride to Bedford town centre


Great Denham car park and bus service

Just off the A428, towards Great Denham there is a large car park where you can park for free. Opposite Carnoustie Drive the number 8 bus goes into the town centre via Queen’s Park every 20 mins (between 9:00 and 17:22); the journey to Bedford Bus Station takes approximately 20 mins. There is also an almost entirely off road cycle route from this car park into the town centre which goes along the river.
